I haven't been blogging lately -- I was trying to get my butt to California and planning interviews and trips along the way. Finally I'm back and ready to rock these interviews!
Here's an updated list of interview dates:
Dec4: Pacific University College of Optometry, Forest Grove, PO
Dec7: Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton, CA

Dec17: Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, IL

Still waiting for Berkeley. I don't want to cross fingers because that's not the way life goes.

You can say that it's not exactly how I imagined it, coming back. It's back to the same old things. Sometimes that's great and sometimes it's numbing. Right now, I can't predict what it will be. We'll see what the future holds. I want to feel warm inside, not bleeding with anger and resentment. I have practiced patience and forgiveness and everything else above angry and yet angry is always what I become. Is it natural for us to think like this?
Is it terrible to think of something else? We should be able to be curious and to be able to use that curiosity for good. I envy people who carry out their curiosities to the best of their abilities. I respect those that base their lives on curiosity-- they truly live their lives spontaneously, every single day.
Currently, I'm cogitating on this question: what characteristics are required for a student to succeed? My answer?
A successful student is CURIOUS and FORTHCOMING. "Curiosity killed the cat". Or, at least that's what most people in the world think today. I say, curious students spark curious conversations. Curious, more than courageous. Curious, more than smart. Curious and engaging. With curiosity comes a forthcoming revelation that a student will realize. Curious students push boundaries with their thought-provoking actions. Better a curious student than one that follows a schedule. Curious students make school noteworthy of everything that the school offers.
