Today was the Seattle University/University of Washington Marianas TaoTao Fiesta thing at Seattle University. I've never seen so many Guam people in the mainland US at one time. It was kind of cool to see the Guam culture being displayed to so many different kinds of people. Hopefully, they appreciate the culture as much as we appreciate theirs. Ian was doing his cultural dance and it was very entertaining to watch. The food was SPECTACULAR! There was finadene, kelaguen, bbq ribs, tinaktak, cucumber salad, latiya, and the list continues! I probably gained a couple pounds eating all that food tonight. It was a fun and entertaining night. Being there tonight reminded me of how much I miss Guam (even though I was just there a mere two and a half weeks ago). I'm proud that I'm from Guam and can represent it here.
Tomorrow, I get to see my Aunt, whom I haven't seen in a couple years! She's making me all sorts of Filipino dishes so I'm very excited!
I finally filled out the FAFSA and am waiting for it to be processed and analyzed to see how much aid I am eligible for. Crossing fingers for a good response from the FEDS and then the ball can get rolling with the whole financial aid thing. Lam told me to stop worrying about the money I need to borrow and instead focus on the investment and return; so, that's what I'm going to do :)
